Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Art in Fine Art from the Queensland College of Art in 1994. He is an award winning visual artist, nominated as finalist in a number of major art prizes including Tattersall's Landscape Art Prize, Glover Prize and Gold Coast Art Prize.
Scott moved to Far North Queensland from Brisbane in late 2009, to paint full-time. In 2010 Scott was selected as Artist in Residence at Undara Volcanic National Park.
He moved to Wangaratta in Victoria in 2011, to take up residency in "Warra", the family home of artist and mentor June Tupicoff. Scott's painting of the home's interior won the 2012 Gainsborough Greens Art Awards. In autumn 2012 Scott moved to Tasmania to continue his pursuit of the Australian landscape.
Between late 2016 and mid 2017 Scott undertook a six month study tour of the great art collections of Europe and the UK. He currently resides in Ross, Tasmania.
