| Proton Arcs and Tiger Stripes |
 | | "STEVE" (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement) lights up Scorpios beneath the galactic centre. The middle of the frame is due west! |
This Auroral display was one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed. Most of Tasmania was clouded but Ross cleared just as the Aurora was at its most active. The shots really don't do justice to the naked eye experience because of the sheer angular size and brightness of the lights. I was alone and whooping out loud as it was going off!!

I shot these on historic Roseneath - where I was living at the time -between 10:30 and 12:30pm on 15th - 16/08/2015.
